Tool #1 – Prayer Beads
Utilization of prayer beads can help bring your mind into a single focus on specific mantras and/or prayers used during your meditations. Making your own strand of prayer beads is simple. Use beads that have a special significance to you or that you feel drawn to. String them along a colored thread that resonates with you, and tie the two ends together, creating a circular strand of beads. For each bead, designate a certain prayer or mantra. As you begin your meditation, focus your mind on the specific saying designated to each bead. This exercise gives you a physical focal point for your mind, which can be helpful for those new to meditation practices.
Tool #2 – Gemstones
Every element of this earth, we included, carries within and around them an electrical charge and a harmonic frequency. Using gemstones that originate within the earth can help shift our frequencies from the intellectual state to the meditative state. Gemstones open the energetic channels within the body, allowing us to be fully open to the receptive nature of meditation. While there are many different stones that can be used, some great ones for beginners are an amethyst held in the left hand, a clear quartz crystal held in the right and an opal placed upon the third eye. This combination of stones balances and grounds the electrical polarities of the body while opening our spiritual vision abilities.
Tool #3 – Music
Using music can be a powerful meditation tool for beginners. Music instantly creates a calm and relaxed response within the body, as well as helps the intellectual mind gently step aside so one can enter the meditative state. Finding the right music is essential. Music that is positive, un-intrusive and designed to bring the mind and body into balance is your best choice. There is now music specifically designed to harmonize the two hemispheres of the brain. This has an incredible effect on individuals when used during meditation, allowing one to go deeper into the experience. Music infused with sounds of nature, chants, crystal and/or Tibetan bowls are also popular choices for meditation.

In fact, as you read the newest meditation book, you may find yourself actively looking for a missing piece of information. At this stage, you will need to start looking for meditation books written for advanced spiritual practitioners.
Many people who start working with meditation begin with a need to relax and detach from all the chaos of regular life. As comforting as this practice may be, you will eventually find yourself wondering what comes next. Interestingly enough, when you focus on universal love and union with your higher self, it will take you well beyond the formation of characterizations and a personal myth system. In fact, there will be times when you will feel like you are the only person to have approached a vast region of unexplored reality. When you do not have a spiritual teacher available for guidance, it can be very comforting to have meditation books from authors that have been in similar places.
Anyone who practices meditation will eventually reach the conclusion that they are no longer practicing at just the physical, mental, and emotional levels. Therefore, when you are searching for meditation books, it will become very important to find ones written by people who have accepted the spiritual aspects of their life path, as well as ones willing to provide you with a road map and some landmarks. Without a question, when you reach this stage, you will know the difference between someone who has been there, and someone who is inexperienced in these matters.
Consider a situation where you are interested in interacting with spiritual beings. Even if you already heard of many deities from cultures around the world, you may not have adopted a set of higher beings to work with during meditation sessions. If you want to progress beyond this point, you may need to find a way to name some of the most basic spirit types known to mankind. From there, you will either advance your meditation practices into complex interactions with spirits, or find other ways to explore these new dimensions.
Today, you can find hundreds of books about meditation that will provide basic information about how to relax and get into a suitable mind state. Once you are able to achieve this level, you will find these books simply do not provide you with enough information about what to do next. On the other hand, if you look carefully, you will also find a number of other books to help you along. In particular, books about the Gods and Goddesses of other cultures can help you form a vibrant set of archetypes that will enable you to navigate in the spiritual dimensions. From there, you will also begin to develop a much deeper and much profounder sense of existence beyond the purely spiritual realm. When you find such meditation book that speaks to you of this level of being, it will truly be one of your greatest treasures, as well as your best guide into advanced meditation practices.

Meditation is a term we use to describe a process. Meditation is concentration used to know or realize the presence of God in daily life. It employs the use of a proven technique or a specific method of focusing one`s attention on their goal.
Some meditation techniques involve specific methods of breath and muscular control which are used to calm restlessness so that one can focus their attention on God. Other meditation techniques involve repetition or chanting of Holy Words or phrases, sacred symbols, sacred sounds, or focusing on life energy.
A meditator usually practices a specific form or a technique of meditation. When a person says they are going to go meditate, it usually means they will practice this technique for a while, and it often means more.
Meditators doing meditation also sing, chant, pray, but before they begin, many do some initial physical exercise to facilitate the body`s ability to relax.
Oftentimes, a meditation session, whether private or with others, has some routine or ritual aspects. For example, a meditation may open with a prayer or a quote from a sacred reading that is read aloud or silently. Frequently, devotional songs or chants are sung for a few minutes. This helps to focus the mind`s attention and aids in concentration. After practicing the meditation techniques, meditators will often pray again, speaking to God in the language of their hearts. Some pray specifically for others and/or for world peace. Closing prayers are said aloud or silently, depending on the situation.
No matter what one`s routine or ritual may be, it is effort and sincerity of desire that will lead on to an actual realization of God`s presence in daily life.

Meditation Cushion, traditionally known as Meditation Zafu, is a very useful tool in maintaining a correct posture during Meditation. Zafu is usually a round-shaped pleated cushion that is typically 14-16 inches in diameter and about 8 inches in height. It has been used for hundreds of years in Asia, particularly in China and Japan for routine seating purposes.
Meditation Cushions are stitched from three pieces of high quality cloth: two round pieces of equal size cloth for the top and bottom and one rectangular piece that is gathered into pleats to make a cylindrical surface of the cushion. The filling material is usually kapok or buckwheat hulls. Kapok is made from light, natural plant fiber that is more resilient than cotton. This is the most commonly used material for filling. On the other hand, buckwheat hull has a heavier, sturdy feel like a full bean bag. A cushion usually has an opening on one side so you can just add more filling as it gets flattened over the years. The side zipper also allows the filling to be removed in case of washing the outer cover.
The use of a Meditation Cushion is very beneficial. As it helps correct your posture and make you comfortable, you will be able to give your full attention to Meditation. It can also be used to provide padding while performing different exercises. It also helps you maintain a correct sitting position which lengthens your spinal column and improves blood flow throughout the body. Moreover, a Meditation Cushion adds firmness to cross legged sitting postures by raising hips, keeping proper blood circulation in the legs and distributing body weight correctly. By having a correct posture, you will be able to minimize the risks of getting muscle strain or injuries.
A Meditation Cushion is an important tool in Meditation. It provides physical comfort and promotes correct posture as you focus on your Meditation session. Get one now so you can be more comfortable as you meditate.
